So I went for one of my last dress fittings last weekend and I have my last tomorrow morning, but the designer and my dad said that my shoes didnt go with the dress. Now I have a dilemma! Which shoes?!
The first image is of the dress that inspired my dress (a tiny bit different around the neck) the second image (in the middle) is the detailing around my waist. The Third image is of the shoes Liza (my designer) said I should wear, and I love them, but I'm not sure if they're too bling for me, I dont feel like they're "me" but they go really well with the dress. The last image is of the original shoes I bought, and I love the idea of having a coloured shoe peeking out the bottom of my dress, but my dad and Liza said they're too solid and dont compliment the dress.
What do you all think?

i like your shoes way better, they're adorable!! i don't like the "classic" bridal shoe look... totally don't agree with the designer choice... if they think yours is too solid, have you thought about getting some purple ones that are peep toe?
ReplyDeleteagree with Ashley - love the kick of color & maybe something in a peep toe? i think it will look more youthful and fun! good luck!
ReplyDeleteYour original ones are a really pretty color, just too heavy maybe. What about a colored shoe that is strappier or like they said above with a peep toe? I'm doing bright shoes too, I think they help give a little pop of color to an all white dress.
ReplyDeleteI love your shoes! go for it!
ReplyDeleteI like your shoes. It is possible that they are telling you it doesnt match because they want you to wear a more traditional shoe?
ReplyDeleteWear what your heart swoons over, not what someone else *thinks* you should wear. Period.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of color, but thnk you should look for a peep toe. Don't give up the color! You could always go to a wedding store and pick out a dyeable shoe? Though don't blame me if they kill your feet :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely go for the shoes you already have, unless you love peep toe. I think they are cute and not too 'chunky' at all.
ReplyDeletei like the white and blingy shoes with that dress. I think that the colored shoes are great, but they are a bit too solid with the dress. the dress has a delicate feel to it and i think the shoes should too.
ReplyDeleteDon't go with a shoe that is not you. Try Zappos or Endless.com or something that does free shipping and free returns. Order a few (possibly in a peep-toe?) and then keep the one you like the best. I think it you go with something that isn't so "heavy" then it would totally compliment the dress, even if it's in color.
ReplyDeleteI really dig your shoe choice. Emphasis on your.choice. The bling-y bow doesn't really scream summer picnic wedding to me.
ReplyDeleteI think we are all fairly much saying the same thing, but I also agree that the colour is gorgeous but an enclosed toe might be too heavy for the delicate dress. Maybe also look at alanpinkus.com.au if you are really stuck. At the end of the day though no matter what you wear you will look amazing in that pretty dress & you will forget all about your feet! :)
ReplyDeletewow thank you for all the responses!
ReplyDeleteBoth shoes are beautiful. What is the approx price range for Liza?
ReplyDeleteLiza varies depending on the detail you want for your dress, mine was so reasonable (cheaper than any mass produced off the shelf dress) but my dress has been made from tule and only has one piece of beading detail so that has kept the cost down. She is so fun to work with and is an amazing woman, she will not disappoint!
ReplyDeleteThose purple shoes are stupendous! do it! =)
ReplyDeleteGo with the purple! My colors are brown and green and I'm going to wear bright red shoes just because I can. It's your wedding, not theirs. Have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteAgree that some peep toes would be a better option. In the current issue of InStyle there is a pic of some purple peep toes for only $79.95 (pg 116).
ReplyDeletehope this helps!
