The Look I'm Loving

So winter is almost here! Its getting colder and I'm finding it harder to wake up while I'm all warm in bed with my husband in one arm and my cat cuddled in the other.

I have been having a flick through some blogs to get some inspiration for my new winter wardrobe (which I haven't changed in quite a few years!) and I am loving the long jackets and denim with big statement scarves and black tights and heeled boots. I love these two ladies' looks...What are you loving in fashion at the moment?

Rose and Ruby

I am really struggling to find bridesmaid dresses that are (a) affordable = $200, (b) long enough for one of my bridesmaids who is 6 foot 4 inches, (c) that fits all my bridesmaids body shapes as they are all very different and (d) that is available in both Adelaide and Sydney as one of my bridesmaids is in Sydney and cant come down to look for dresses. So I am a little bit stressed in that department.

I found these dresses on Rose and Ruby that I love but two of my bridesmaids cant try them on because we are down here in Adelaide! poo.
I'm not sure really what to do. Any suggestions of places to look for bridesmaid dresses in Adelaide??

oh by the way, I got the white shoes with the bows on them for the wedding shoes. Thanks for all the suggestions. Im going to wear the purple shoes for some photos. x

Suits with a twist

Jarrod and I went looking for suits the other day and I LOVE what he picked out. He picked out light grey pants with a plain white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a slighter darker toned grey vest with a black skinny tie. He looked so sexy! I want him to wear it everyday forever!

Loving how suave this groom and his men are...

Darling Frills

Normally I'm not a fan of puffy princess dresses, but this is beautiful! I also love her cute little shoes...speaking of shoes, I got mine yesterday, cant wait to show you!

Grecian Glamour

I LOVE these dresses from Marchesa Resort's 2010 collection. I originally wanted to have a Grecian style wedding dress, but its taken a more garden summer dress turn.
Cake tasting tomorrow at the fabulous Cake Stories... yum yum yum I can't wait!

Rose and Ruby (LOVE)

(photography by SugarLove Weddings)

I just noticed that the dresses in this picture I posted yesterday are Australian! They are all from Rose and Ruby's Summer/Spring 08 collection in Sydney. Looks like my girls and I will be making a trip to Sydney for some shopping soon!

Bridesmaid Dresses

I really have NO idea what sort of style, colour, anything I would like for my bridesmaids. All I know is I would like them to be short. And although everyone keeps telling me I should probably stick to a colour (I like the idea of a muted watermelon/coral), I cant help but keep coming back to white or neutral colour dresses.

I am pretty picky about the bridesmaids dresses linking in some way with my dress because the way I see it, if all the men in the bridal party are going to wear the same thing then I think the bridesmaids should compliment the brides dress so it all looks balanced (I feel the same way about flowers too). Anyway here are two images that I am loving for bridesmaids at the moment...

(photography by SugarLove Weddings found via Bespoke Press)

I love the way that these dresses are all around the same colour and all different styles to suit their shape and style and the colour fits in so nicely with the Bride's dress.

This dress is gorgeous. I would rather like one for myself really, but I am a bit hesitant about buying clothes online when I am not sure what size I would be. But a dress like this would be almost perfect for a bridesmaid dress. I think it has a nice summery vintage feel with the lace around the collar.

I also Love these dresses from Sarah Seven.

First Fitting

A couple of days ago I had my first dress fitting with Adelaide designer Liza Emanuel. I would LOVE to show you the sketch of the dress but I cant risk Jarrod seeing it. But what I can do is show you a picture of the detailing that will be going just under the bust and the a picture of a dress that has helped inspire it (the sleeves and neckline). The dress was mainly inspired though by a dress my mum once wore when she went to a ball with my dad. She looked stunning in it and after she passed away I found the dress and tried it on and knew that I wanted my wedding dress to be based around it. I would have worn that exact dress however, it is black, so I brought it to Liza and she came up with a few sketches inspired by the dress.

(Not sure where the dress image is from anymore so if you know please tell me. The middle detailing is what i'm having on my dress and the little one under it is going on the flower girl's)

Loving....

This Dress! I am not sure who it is by or where it is from. All I do know is I love it!

Short wedding dresses and puffy ruffles make me go all ga ga! If I had longer legs, I would definitely go short and bold like this! Thanks to Green Wedding Shoes and Alders Photography for letting me steal the images! Swooooon!

Judd Waddell Tiered Organza Gown

This Judd Waddell gown...*breathe in*...is amazing...*breathe out*. I found it as I was flicking through one of my favourite blogs, Ritzy bee and I think I actually almost cried when I saw it! Although my gown design will be strongly based on a dress my mother used to wear, I think there has to be some way Liza can add some of this gown's structure into it.

Liza Emanuele

A girlfriend of mine got very excited when i mentioned that i wanted to get my wedding dress made... a one of a kind that means something more to me than just a dress to look pretty in. She told me to get onto Adelaide fashion designer Liza Emanuele straight away.

What a wonderful woman! So energetic! i only really spent a few minutes on the phone with her but she sounds great and whats even better she is going to sketch me up a dress (no obligations) and work to whatever budget i throw at her (which is good because i am someone who cant really justify spending $5000 on a dress I'll wear only once. but that is me).

you can visit her website here - she is new to the bridal market, but i have no doubt that she will soon become a hit judging by the gowns on her site.

She's traveling around Australia in the next few weeks so i will meet with her mid April. so exciting!
