On Polka Dot Bride

I'm still 'fishing' but I was in the middle of a bit of naughty procrastination over at Polka Dot Bride and LOOK! *blushes* My engagement party invites are on her blog. It's such a nice stroke to the ego when your work is posted on someone else's blog, especially on what I would consider a "power blog". So a big thank you to her for the mention x

Gone Fishing...

Just to let you all know that I haven't died, fallen off the planet or been abducted by aliens, etc. I have exactly 11 days till I have to hand up my 10,000 word honours thesis and unfortunately that means that I have had to abandon seeking out wonderful inspiration for the time being...dam priorities and responsibilities! I will be back bigger and better on the 1st June.

Love you all x

P.S. here is a pretty image.

Inspiration for the day

I love this fun, casual, summer table setting. It has always been my intentions to have potted flowers as part of my table settings with lavender, hydrangeas and other such things to bring the garden feel of the venue indoors. After seeing this image I don't think I can resist including daffodils now!

Turkish Delight

Besides liking the actual desert, another Turkish delight that I fell head over heels for while browsing through The Cool Hunter travel section is this hotel. Located half an hour from Brodrum, Turkey, Maca Kizi is one of the most beautiful settings I have ever come across and from the images it feels so perfect for an exotic destination wedding - originally designed to be an "inspiring environment for writers, painters, other intellectuals and all" it has that ability it seems to make you lose all sense of time, you cannot get more romantic than that really.

Understated Elegance

I have recently been having a fair bit of trouble trying to figure out the perfect palette for my summer picnic wedding and I really need to get a move on because I have to pick colours for the bridesmaid dresses, fabrics for the table runners and picnic rugs, and florals. So this is the begining of a few colourboards I will put together to see which palette I am more drawn to. What do you think of this one?

Loving....

This Dress! I am not sure who it is by or where it is from. All I do know is I love it!

Short wedding dresses and puffy ruffles make me go all ga ga! If I had longer legs, I would definitely go short and bold like this! Thanks to Green Wedding Shoes and Alders Photography for letting me steal the images! Swooooon!

Moo cards

So I saw these over at Style Me Pretty...

These gorgeous save the date cards by Kelly and Terrell and photographed by Whitebox Weddings are made using these fancy little cards.

Moo cards seem like the solution to so many problems! business cards, gift tags, escort cards, thank you cards, invitations, the sky is the limit with these babies! The mini cards are my favourite, they are so cute and tiny at 28mm x 70mm and start from only US$19.00 for 100 (each card can be a different image). I am definitely going to be purchasing several hundred of these! LOVE

Have a Loving Mothers Day Tomorrow

I miss you mum.
Although I cannot see you, I always feel you around me. In the sun, the wind and the rain, I know you are always with me.

Real Wedding - Nicki + Ben - 18th April 2009

Nick and Ben were married on the 18th April this year in the most remarkable little cafe called Star of Greece down at Port Willunga (South Australia). They were down there one day for New Years lunch and knew that this was the place! I can definitely see why.

Nicki is the buyer for homewares store Wheel and Barrow and also for Karma Living. So she LOVES all things design and interior design! All the little details (the candles, spoons, invitations) were created by Nicki and came together perfectly with the details and colours of the Venue. (I LOVE the coloured spoon gift idea!)

Taking only 4 months to plan, Nicki walked down the beach to meet Ben in the late afternoon sun to "friends" by Low Rider (great Adelaide band by the way, awesome live). It was the perfect day of close friends and family, magical views and a venue that was the icing on the cake.

I know there are a lot of images, but seriously, every single one is needed!

Thank you so much Shona for sharing these images. They are amazing! I am so excited to have you shooting my wedding!
