More Simply Bloom

I'm really loving the photography of Vania and Christine from Simply Bloom at the moment. Their photos are so delicate and whimsy and I always find myself daydreaming of how the events they photographed played out.

And once again, I am obsessing about a rustic turquoise theme.

A backyard cheese party

On the weekend, I went to the engagement party of one of my bridesmaids. It was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere in her backyard with touches of yellow and lots of cheese! Even the cake was made of cheese! The weather was balmy and the wine was flowing and did I mention lots of cheese! Some of the most incredible cheese I have tasted!

Happy Valentines Day

Normally Jarrod and I don't really do the whole Valentines thing, but we figured seeing as it is our first one as a married couple we would do something. So I have a fancy lunch prepared for him today and he is taking me out to dinner and a movie. Do you celebrate Valentines Day? Do you go all out? or are you one of those people that think it's just another day designed for spending a lot of money?

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day and that it is full of love and laughter x

Inspirational Interiors

I came across this article from the cool hunter and was mesmerised by the life that this interior brings. The crisp white is softened with the geometric layering of the ceiling panels and given an energetic lift with the greenery. The life that plants bring into interior spaces is still greatly underestimated.
This venue would make a wonderful setting for a classy summer lunch time event and early evening. With cucumber sandwiches and martinis, succulents, white Singapore orchids and maybe the occasional birds of paradise. One day... one day when I'm a successful and rich event designer (ha!) I will design and build an event venue just like this with a large timber deck overlooking the water.

Simplebloom photo shoot

There is something so beautiful about light turquoise in a vintage setting. Its such a delicate colour. I would love to do a rustic wedding with light turquoise, lace and twine out in the country with hay bale chairs and calico table cloths. This photo shoot by SimpleBloom is so beautifully inspiring.

Gift Etiquette

Something that has kind of irked me going through all of our amazing and generous wedding gifts, is that one of my very good and long time friends didn't get us anything not even a card. Now I don't know if I am just being silly (and tell me if I am) but to me when you get the honour of being invited to a wedding and the couple and their families spend a lot of money for you to be there, it is just polite to bring the couple a gift or even just something as simple as a card. I wouldn't dream of going to a wedding or even a birthday party for that matter, without bringing something. I should also mention that I don't apply this to the people who have to travel to be at a wedding! That is an amazing gift in itself really.

Another question that seems to come up quite often in my circle of friends (seeing as there are so many weddings at the moment) is what is a good amount of money to spend on an engagement or wedding present? Its a tough one really. Thoughts?

Mrs Walsh... sounds strange!

SO We're Married!
It was the most amazing and perfect day! Even everything that didn't go to plan made it amazing, my dad stepped and almost tripped on my dress as he was walking to his seat, Jarrod almost put HIS wedding ring on my finger instead of mine and the music for our first dance didn't work so we had fun and just made the most of a bad situation and danced like idiots (at one stage Jarrod was dancing on his knees). I wish I could show you all my photos right now, but with any luck the wedding will hopefully make it into Wedding Style Guide and so I must be discreet with my photos till then. However you will not be disappointed! The wait will be worth it! I promise!
